Description:
Tobramycin sulfate, the awater-soluble antibiotic of the aminoglycoside group, is derived from the actinomycete Streptomyces tenebrous. Nebcin injection is a clear and colorless sterile aqueous solution for parenteral administration
Indications:
• Septicemia
• Lower respiratory tract infections
• Serious central-nervous-system infections
• Intra-abdominal infections
• Skin, bone, and skin structure infections
• Complicated and recurrent urinary tract infections
Dosage:
Neonates:
0-7 days: 2 mg/kg every 12 hours, More than 7 days: 2 mg/kg every 8 hours
Children:
6-7.5 mg/kg/day in 3-4 divided doses
Adult:
3-5 mg/kg/day in 3-4 divided doses
