Asterotide 0.1mg injection is composed of Octreotide Acetate (0.1mg). This medication is indicated in patients with gastro-entero-pancreatic endocrine (GEP) (stomach, intestine and pancreatic) tumors, carcinoid tumors (slow growing cancer growing throughout the body), patients who go through pancreatic surgery.
It is a short term treatment for acromegaly and long term treatment in patients in whom dopamine agonist and radiotherapy are ineffective. This medication is contraindicated in patients who are pregnant or in lactating mothers.
