Medication Details
- Active Ingredient: Levetiracetam 750mg.
- Purpose: It is used for the management of various types of epilepsy, including partial-onset seizures, myoclonic seizures, and primary generalised tonic-clonic seizures. It can be used alone (monotherapy) or in combination with other anti-epileptic medicines.
- Mechanism of Action: Levetiracetam works by binding to the synaptic vesicle protein 2A (SV2A) in nerve cells, which helps suppress abnormal electrical activity in the brain that causes seizures.
