Composition:
Each Briax tablet contains 20 mg piroxicam (as Beta-Cyclodextrin) for oral administration.
Description:
Briax contains piroxicam which is a member of the oxicam group of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).
Indications:
Briax is indicated for the treatment of painful conditions and inflammation in rheumatic diseases (rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis), musculoskeletal affections (tendinitis, bursitis, post-traumatic pain); post-operative pain & primary dysmenorrhea.
Dosage:
Adults
The recommended daily dose is one Briax tablet daily, preferably with or after food.
Children
The use of Briax tablet in children is not recommended.
The Elderly
In elderly patients, it may be necessary to reduce the dosage (half a tablet), and limit the duration of treatment. Again, it is preferable to take the dose with or after food.
