Axid Neo 40 mg: Each Axid Neo capsule contains 40mg of esomeprazole
Description:
Axid Neo is a proton pump inhibitor that suppresses gastric acid secretion by specific inhibition of the H+/K+-ATPase in the gastric parietal cell. By acting specifically on the proton pump, Axid Neo blocks the final step in acid production, thus reducing gastric acidity. This effect is dose-related up to a daily dose of 20 to 40 mg and leads to inhibition of gastric acid secretion.
Indications:
• Treatment of Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD)
o Healing of Erosive Esophagitis
o Maintenance of Healing of Erosive Esophagitis
o Symptomatic Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease
• Risk Reduction of NSAID-Associated Gastric Ulcer
• H. pylori Eradication to Reduce the Risk of Duodenal Ulcer Recurrence
• Pathological Hypersecretory Conditions Including Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome
Dosage:
Treatment of Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD)
• Healing of Erosive Esophagitis
Axid Neo 40 mg once daily for 4 to 8 weeks
Risk Reduction of NSAID-Associated Gastric Ulcer
Axid Neo 40 mg once daily for up to 6 months
H. pylori Eradication to Reduce the Risk of Duodenal Ulcer Recurrence
• Triple Therapy (Axid Neo with amoxicillin and clarithromycin)
Axid Neo 40 mg once daily, in combination with amoxicillin 1000 mg twice daily and clarithromycin 500 mg twice daily for 10 days
Pathological Hypersecretory Conditions Including Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome
Axid Neo 40 mg twice daily
Pediatric Use
12 to 17 years old
Short-term treatment of GERD – Axid Neo 40 mg once daily for 8 weeks
